How to Save Time by Scheduling Social Media Posts

A majority of small business owners say social media is the most difficult and time consuming aspect of online marketing, according to a 2016 Manta poll. That’s understandable. After all, social media accounts aren’t worth much if you don’t post regularly.

But before you decide that social media is more trouble than it’s worth, consider that it helps build your business’ online visibility and reputation. “Social media is crucial for any small business, no matter the amount of time or budget available,” said Tracy Willis, content strategist for N2Q Consulting. “A few posts a week will do far more for your business than nothing at all.”

(“As I’ve always said to my customers you have to feed your site content in order for it to grow, we custom build, host and maintain premium WordPress sites at Koehler Cyber Cafe, Inc. and we teach our customers that building active content takes time, but you can have your posts scheduled so that it doesn’t take up your time. You can use several tools to do it including WordPress’s own scheduling tool that’s built in as well as with WordPress comes with a Jetpack plugin called publicize which connects Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Path and even Google Plus to your site. So that when you make a post it will push a post link and short description out to all those social medias for you” ~ Glenn K. Owner at Koehler Cyber Cafe, Inc.)

If you’re struggling to find time to update your social media, start scheduling posts in advance with tools like Hootsuite or Buffer. “Take some time every weekend to create a plan of action for the coming week,” advised Tracy. “Write about three to four posts and schedule them in advance, leaving you free during the week to handle your normal responsibilities.”

Setting aside an hour or so at a time, rather than dropping what you’re doing in the middle of the day to post on Twitter or Facebook, will streamline the process and make it easier to reap the benefits of a strong social media presence.
